Handcrafted in County Cork, Ireland

OUR STORY
Made for my family.
Shared with yours.
I never imagined a little bottle made in my kitchen would bring our family from Australia all the way to Ireland.
Wild Irish House began because I wanted something better for my own children. It grew because other families wanted the same.

WHAT
Where it began
A few years ago, my son was unwell every few weeks, and our family life began to feel organised around the next difficult stretch.
At the time, I was pregnant with my second baby, my husband was working away for weeks at a time and I was exhausted.
Like so many mums, I was doing everything I thought I should.
I filled my trolley with children’s gummies and vitamins, hoping I was making the right choice. Then I’d turn the packets over and find refined sugar, artificial colours, artificial flavours and ingredients I didn’t recognise.
It didn’t sit right with me.

WHY
I couldn't find it,
so I made it.
With a background in nursing and a lifelong interest in herbal medicine, I started researching.
Night after night, once the children were asleep, I read about traditional botanical ingredients and the ways they had been prepared and used across generations.
I learnt everything I could about elderberries, elderflower, marshmallow root, olive leaf, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, raw honey, apple cider vinegar and Celtic sea salt.
I searched for one thoughtfully made product that brought those ingredients together without refined sugar, artificial additions or unnecessary shortcuts.
I couldn’t find it.
So I made it.

HOW
The first bottle
I’ll never forget that first batch.
What began as something I made for my own family slowly became part of our everyday routine. Before long, friends began asking for bottles of their own.
Then one Saturday, with Practical Magic playing in the background and “Put the Lime in the Coconut” filling the kitchen, I bottled 42 bottles and took them to my local market.
Every bottle sold.
Soon afterwards, one of Victoria’s largest wholefood stores contacted me and asked if they could stock Defender.
That was the moment I realised this little kitchen recipe could become something much bigger.

WHERE
From Australia,
to Ireland.
From there, Wild Irish House grew into stores across Australia and made its way into family homes throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
Then life led us somewhere unexpected.
We packed up our family, moved across the world and brought Wild Irish House home to Ireland.
The recipe hasn’t changed.
The care hasn’t changed.
The love poured into every bottle hasn’t changed.
Only the landscape outside my window.
MY HOW FAR WE'VE COME
Today...
Today, Defender is handcrafted in County Cork using carefully selected botanicals, raw honey and traditional methods.
Every batch is made slowly, every ingredient is chosen carefully, and every bottle is something I’m proud to keep in my own family’s fridge.
Wild Irish House was never created because I wanted to start a business. It was created because I wanted something better for my family, and I’ll never compromise on the quality, ingredients or craftsmanship behind it.
Whether you’ve been with us since the Australian markets or you’ve only just discovered Wild Irish House here in Ireland, welcome.
I’m so grateful you’re here.
